Featured Instructors:

Chris Jordan Sensei (6th Dan) joined Bond Street Dojo shortly after its founding. In 1980 Terry Dobson and Ken Nisson transferred the teaching and leadership of the Bond Street Dojo to Chris Jordan and Paul Kang, both of whom joined Bond Street as students of Terry Sensei and Ken Sensei in the 1970s. In addition to Terry Dobson and Ken Nisson, her teaching influences include Mitsugi Saotome Shihan, Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan, Yoshida Yamada Shihan, Mary Heiny Shihan and Frank Doran Sensei. In addition, she has received the honor of the Ueshiba Juku designation from Saotome Sensei. Chris Jordan is known for her joy and sincerity of training on the mat.

Melissa Bell Sensei (5th Dan) is the Chief Instructor of the 12th Street Dojo in Sarasota Florida. She began her training at the Aikido Shobukan Dojo in Washington D.C. under Mitsugi Saotome Shihan and other instructors including Patty Saotome Sensei and Frank Bell Sensei. In addition, she has received the honor of the Ueshiba Juku designation from Saotome Sensei. Her cross-training has included Shotokan Karate (Shodan) under Rick Hotton, Sensei. She has taught at the #ASU Summer Intensive in Washington D.C. and the ASU Winter Intensive in Florida and regional seminars across the country.

Don Hebert Sensei (4th Dan) began his Aikido studies in 1978 at the New Haven Aikikai in New Haven, Connecticut. His early teachers include Bob Barrett, Donald Hailey, Terry Dobson, Ken Nisson and Mitsugi Saotome Shihan. Captivated early on by the depth and beauty of Aikido movement, Don's interest continues to be to explore the many ways that Aikido practice can be personally transformative, in both the physical and inner realms. Integral to his practice is his fundamental belief that he is on the path as a student of Aikido. Herbert Sensei received his Yondan rank under Hiroshi Ikeda Shihan and Aikido Schools of Ueshiba. In 2001 he renovated a hundred year-old church in Brattleboro, Vermont to be his home and the location for the River Valley Aikido club.
